An ancinet craft in an historic location! Join me in Yellow Springs (part of Chester Springs) - the early home of at PAFA’s Summer Art School in early/mid 1900s! In this beginner friendly workshop, you’ll learn the art of Shibori, a Japanese manual hand-dyeing technique which produces beautiful patterns in fabric in a range of blues using Indigo dye.
Four different patterns will be taught - you’ll choose two techniques to prep your fabrics. Students may choose to create:
One 8"x72" silk scarf and One 11"x60" scarf OR
Two 18"x18" cotton pillow covers w/zippers OR
One large cotton tote bag w/pocket 19"x17"x9.5"
Sunday, November 1st, 2026 from 11:00am-4:00pm with a BYO lunch break
Workshop is held in the spacious and well-lit Chester Springs Studio - part of the historic Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts Summer Art School! Dress for mess as the dye will stain clothing. Bring your own bag lunch. Life’s Patina, the delicious cafe next door, is also open at 9am to purchase lunch to go before class.
